• Help provide production support, designing databases, planning configuration and installation, maintenance, monitoring, fine tuning etc.
• The position is for a database administrator that will support and provide for our Development, QA/UAT, and Production dataserver environment containing a very high volume of data for trading and reporting
• Responsibilities will include installing, upgrading, and maintenance of Sybase, Oracle, and Microsoft dataservers on Sun Solaris and WiNNT environments, respectively. Work will involve troubleshooting and correcting database issues in an efficient and timely manner mitigating all risks and ensuring uninterrupted continuation of the business flow
• Document and enforce all database architecture and relevant procedures according to established standards.
• Monitor resource utilization to ensure client response time meets
• Over 6 years of experience in a 24*7*365 production environment, preferably support in the financial community, front office systems
• Comfortable with supporting ~500 servers, varying platforms, able to troubleshoot, manage crisis situations as well as contribute to client solutions

Databases:

• Oracle 8i/Oracle 9i
• Sybase 11.9.2 and up/ Sybase Replication
• MSSQL 7/2000 / MSSQL Replication
• UNIX /Scripting: Perl or Ksh

Job description:

• Assist with the management of commercial aspects of market data provision, including negotiations, contract management, data sourcing and market data analysis
• Enforcement of contractual terms and conditions. Pro-active involvement with Market Data Finance & Analyst teams

Required Skill:

• Familiar with market data desktop & datafeed services
• Familiarity with entitlement systems (DACS etc) and market data inventory systems (such as MDM, FITS etc)
• Experience within financial institutions, negotiation (both pricing and contract terms), working within a market data environment
• Competent with MS Office apps
